About

I am an author-illustrator. I started drawing in grade school, when I should have been paying attention in class. This did not work well with teachers or parents. But I kept at it. And haven’t stopped yet.

For the most part, I am self-taught. I got some formal training at the Art Students League. My picture book work is considered “quirky I think books for children can’t just be cute: they need a “twist” something a bit whacky, challenging, maybe even a bit dark. My “heroes” include James Marshall, Edward Gorey, Maurice Sendak, Shel Silverstein, Shaun Tan, and Jules Feiffer.   In My wife and I live in Cleveland, Ohio.  addition to being a member of SCBWI, I am a member of Zygote Press here in Cleveland where I make and sell monotypes.

Good for you. Keep up the good work. Keep springing for art class but only if you are being taught about how to design and think about composition and about how to use light. If you get that stuff down, it will be all good.

    thanks for your comment

First, if we are to get anywhere, we do not want “colorsluts” as our URL. Second, secure a day-job and promote like hell.

        integrity is integral…
what do you think of the format?
acasual as the production method and ( Hopi vs. hope) synchronicity of the story line…
        I await your reply anxiously
        yours etc.
